Amongst the many changes 2017 brings to the Kalamazoo Blues Festival; the addition of a “music museum” area is one of the most exciting.  During the festival an exhibition hall will be open featuring leuthiers from around West Michigan, including Kalamazoo’s own Heritage Guitar; as well other music related vendors and projects.  The jewel of this exhibition will be a very unique 356C Porche that was owned by none other than “Pearl” herself, Janis Joplin.  Joplin had the car painted to reflect her very unique lifestyle; with depictions of The Eye of God, the band, Sausalito and psychedelic trips.  This will be a unique opportunity to not only see a unique work of automotive restoration, but also a piece of rock and roll history.
